1939 Cop The Cream Ideal Dairy Bottle

Vintage 1939 Cop The Cream Ideal Dairy Bottle, The “Cop The Cream” style milk bottle was designed by the three Gennaro Brothers in 1938. This bottle was made at Universal Glass Co. of Parkersburg, W. VA. A.A. Beck manager of Ideal Dairy in Painesville said he had a slug plate made in 1939 and ordered a gross each of pints and quarts, the minimum form Universa Glass at that time. They weer very successful; too much so, only a dozen or so were ever returned. No more were ordered. These are amount the rarest and most sought after northeast Ohio bottles. Only four or five exist in the better collections and on rare occasions when they do come up for sale they sell very quickly and for an appreciable sum. This is near mint condition with no flakes and little wear.
